What you'll need
We'll help you get set up, but if you're planning ahead, here are the main things you'll need.
1. Your own domain
It can be .nz, .kiwi, .com, .org or whatever other top-level domain (even .au) but you should have a web domain that's specific to your organisation. At Magnificent we don't believe in locking you into a domain that we choose.
If you don’t yet have a domain name, we can help you set one up. We recommend Metaname as a reliable New Zealand-based domain registrar. A .nz domain name will cost you about NZD 35/year.
2. A login to your domain registrar's website
Setting up email will involve changing some settings for your domain so email can be routed correctly to your mailboxes. Whether you have a new domain or an existing one, you'll need to be able to log in to edit the DNS records. So long as you have that access, we can take it from there.
3. An emergency email address
We recommend having an existing email address prepared in case you ever need to recover a password.
